The museum of Childhood is offering a similar free adult class on the 24th of September in conjunction with their Make do and Mend exhibition

Hello! I just followed a trail and found your blog, it's great! I think there will be similar courses run in Brighton and Hove museums this Autumn. Coincidentally I have just listed an original copy of Make Do and Mend on my website too!

I'd like to comment on the tip for polishing shoes with bananas/skins. This cannot have come from the original 1940's booklet, as there were no bananas to be had during the war. However that fact is trivial. I am still trying to find out where I can get a copy of 'Make do and mend'
