London Fashion Week: what did we love?

So what will we be wearing next Autumn/Winter? Well nothing outrageous, thats for sure. The recent catwalk collections were tamer and more commercial than we've seen for several seasons. 

The OTT, never to be worn by a normal person, created for the catwalk, one off, outrageous creations, were replaced with tasteful colour palettes, easy to wear shapes and re-worked classics. While there were lots of beautiful clothes we could happily wear, we did feel it had lost a little of the excitement of previous seasons.  

We have always loved Betty Jackson but we felt this was one of the best collections she has done for several seasons. Gorgeous prints, knitwear and outerwear to die for and some stunning shapes, whats not to like? 

Erdem

Don't let the fact Erdem is loved by both Samantha Cameron and Sarah Brown put you off. This designer is going from strength to strength. We saw lots of long length skirts and dresses coming through in both New York and London and we liked Erdems adaptation of this emerging trend most of all. Although we're not sure we will be trying it, but we may live to regret saying that!.

Margaret Howell

Margaret Howell is one of our all time favourite designers and never fails to deliver good quality, wearable, beautiful clothes, and this collection didn't disappoint. We loved her take on camel and the injection of bright red. 

Next week we will bring you our favourites from Milan. The weather will eventually get better and we will feel like buying new clothes again, but for now we can make do with fantasizing about clothes we can't afford!
