This makes me glad I don't have daughters !!! I would be livid if anyone used my stuff, let alone before I had even managed to get it near my own face. I think you were very reserved in not throwing her out of the house and telling her to sleep on the streets !! I mean I know she's your daughter and you probably love her and everything but really - there are limits !

I'm seething just reading this! Just wait til she's house-sharing at college and has others 'borrowing' (I call it stealing when done without permission) her things. That'll make you seem like a saint in comparison.
How about you 'borrow' something of hers without telling her? Something she holds dear....?
Yes, I know its petty, but....well.....it might make a point...

Lol, yeah it's true that you don't know what you've got till it's gone! - Or nearly gone in your case!

Why do we always leave things to late, and then complain about things? It makes us wonder if we had used all these skin products when we were young, do you think we would still need them in later life??

Hilarious! Been there, done that, and mine are all quite reasonable twenty- and thirty-somethings now. But I remember one particular fourteen-year old remonstrating, "Mom, why do you always have to nag? Just tell me what you want me to do and I'll do it" . . . . leaving me dumbfounded, without even the words to explain how easily she could cut my nagging off at the pass . . . Bon courage!

Glad to hear Im not the only one!
And yes have once tried the 'borrow something without telling her', but try not to resort to lowering myself to that level as I am fond of saying ' do unto others', 'two wrongs dont make a right' etc etc.
Comfort with myself with the fact it's part of growing up !!
