It was Arcadia press day this week and we were thrilled to see Wallis looking so VERY on trend for next summer (possibly more than some of the hotter younger labels in the Arcadia stable, but we'd better not say that too loudly). In particular we loved the Bianca Jagger/Jerry Hall Studio 54 look, what with all that slinky jersey and bright coloured satin (and corsages...everywhere).
But our favourite collection was the 1923 dress collection (they really should be called frocks) which was in the best cotton floral prints we've seen for ages. Head of design Clive Reeve told us the design team were inspired by the Horrocks Fashion Exhibition earlier this year (we wrote about it here) and raided the Wallis dress pattern archive from the 50s and 60s to come up with just the right feel. We love it and might have to have one of each of them with matching handbag and ballet pumps.....roll on summer (well spring, the dresses launch on Mother's Day next year).

It's very Mad Men and there's also a subtle Royal accent, one feels.
Can't wait for Spring!

I absolutely adore all the Horrockses Fashions designs and am so happy they are influencing high street fashion again. More colour and pattern in fashion please! That dress at the front of the rail looks especially wonderful...
