I love my library and will be absolutely devastated if it closes down! I go every fornight and take out a positive tower of yummy books! I am not a very adventurous reader and read what I like - not particularly mind stretching but easy to get lost in. They also have magazines and papers and there is nothing like a wet afternoon spent flicking House Beautiful, Good Housekeeping etc and all for free! It is such a wonderful institution and we should all fight tooth and nail not to loose them!

I agree Gillian. There really is nothing like a huge pile of unread books by your bed, waiting to be devoured.
Will be using my local library lots more in future.

Once again another lovely post that could have been written about me! I too was that little 9 year old girl chutching my precious Enid Blyton, and Walter de la Mare poetry books, always known as a the family bookworm ( my older sisters never bothered with reading much - still don't) my love of books and libraries continues, I have even worked in a library in my younger days! Now I order all the yummy new books from the online library site and they email me when they are ready to pick up! Marvellous! I am trying to read a book a week this year and I have a pretty notbook to write down all the titles and authors as I do so. What a backward step it will be with library closures and the free buses for the over 60's to get to them....
