Oh no! I've gone and broken the rules by buying a white leather biker jacket from Zara (£170 and fabulously soft leather). It is a little bit 'Life on Mars -series two', but I still love it with summer dresses and to brighten up my huge number of black outfits. It seems like a good colour for this transitional period from summer to winter, I'm just not ready to move into wintery hues yet.....amanda

well in that case I MUST try to persuade you otherwise. I simply adore my new litte GREY leather bomber jacket - can't post pic here so am putting up a twitpic on your twitter page - and I know that as soon as it gets a teensy bit cooler I won't get enough of wearing it! It's only an in-between jacket, but it looks super and just a bit odd 'cos it's .... grey. Anywway, you be the judge - do you hate it???? xxx

Ok ladies, as a colour forecaster for the fashion industry I have to put you right. Technically, white and grey are not actually colours, they are neutrals. I don't like to be pedantic, but by colour, I mean real colours such as pink, orange, red, etc and I am sure none of you would ever think of buying anything in orange leather!!! Or would you?? Will take a look at the grey jacket on Twitter, I'm sure it is gorgeous!

OK! See, I didn't know that! Thank you for the blog-lesson in colour! xxx

aah, well that's ok then, I'm safe. Very pleased to be not breaking the rules! Ax

I am here to bear witness to the fact Amanda's white jacket does look VERY cool ( and I wasn't convinced when we first dicussed it). I think grey and dare i say it, camel-toned neutral, could be flattering on older biker-chicks. I am more of a touch-me-feel-me-prrrrr velvet person myself although wouldn't mind getting close to Ronnie Wood in those skinny leather jeans Jane mentioned .......Somehow dn't think that's going to happen and anything in leather at my age would probably make me look like Cynthia Payne .....

I too was cynical about white leather, but now that I have seen it, am more than convinced.

Saw someone on the TV this morning wearing orange leather and now know that coloured leather is wrong on every level. But camel sounds like it would work.

I'd like to drop taupe leather into this colour debate. Julien Macdonald at Debenhams Designers will shortly receive a fab biker in this 'is it grey, is it chocolate' taupe - its a colour, but very subtle. It also comes in a non-scary purple. And John Rocha at Debenhams have a slightly more casual biker in vintage chocolate and washed black.
Re leather pencil skits, Planet have a beautiful buttery-soft blk pencil skirt due in mid November. Worth a look!

Loving the sound of the Vintage chocolate biker jacket and coming round to the idea on non colour colour!! Think we need you as the Womens Room leather expert Jude. Please keep us updated on any other 'must have' that are up and coming.

No mention of this season's trend in ladies boots - over the knee and thigh highs. Look great with matching leather bomber jacket.

I thought Victoria Beckham looked great in her (McQueen, were they?) thigh highs this week.
