Well done young man! (and well done you for letting him do it - it can't have been easy for you to watch the news yesterday). I was also at uni in the mid-80s and I cringe when I look back at how spectacularly self absorbed and unaware of the real world I was (I knew that the miners strike was going on but did I care or really think about the effect on families & communities? Not at all.) I really do believe that today's teenagers have a wider world view - partly due to much better teaching, but also, I guess, because life slaps them up the face so much earlier than it did our generation.


Absolutely Hilary. I hear there is a mums march soon. Are you up for it?
