Christmas catering can be either a joy or a trial, depending on how much you like cooking and how well you get on with your family. But in the words of my dear old mum 'Theres always something to be glad about'.
Watching this clip of the truely fabulous, but utterly terrfiying Fanny Craddock, makes us glad that, A. We don't have to eat the revolting 'Mums trifle' she makes in the clip, B. Our kitchens are so much more sophisticated now than in the 70's, and C. We are not Fanny's assistant Sarah.
How hideous is that decoration? Remember ladies, never near the refridgerator!
"...sweet inexpensive white wine, a Sauterne. Spellt with and 'S' always." - a Fanny classic! She is THE most condescending person EVER! Love her! It really is comedy, rather than cooking, isn't it? Great stuff.

That has to be the most disgusting trifle ever! Chocolate drops and sugar syrup .. eeuggh, you'd be glad to be on a diet by New Year. Especially if it kept in the fridge for three weeks.
